Many moons ago, my mom bought me a Dior addict lipstick in the shade 680 Millie. It was the first fancy lipstick I owned, other than the gift with purchase Estée Lauder ones that had been passed down to me. At the time I actually wasn’t into lipsticks as much as gloss but I LOVED the color of this one. The formula was semi sheer and had the shine of a gloss, but still packed a punch. I wore it all the time, it lived in my purse, it was my favorite. Such a shame it was over $30 and even more so that it was discontinued when Dior revamped their addict lipsticks. When I realized I couldn’t buy a replacement for mine, I stopped wearing it and saved it for special occasions.

A couple weeks ago, I bought a MAC lipstick in the shade Hot Gossip after swatching a few at the counter. It’s a cremesheen and was different from the matte rosy neutrals I’ve been wearing constantly and I liked how it swatched on my hand. It was also a color I hadn’t heard anything about on YouTube or Pinterest. I didn’t think much of it and wore it a few times before thinking to compare it to my beloved Dior Millie.

As you can see, the color looks the same once it’s on the lips. The Dior feels slightly more emollient on my lips than the MAC, but they give off the same amount of shine and color intensity.
