    Hi
Having used winforms, and c1 studio for winforms for years I'm beging the transition across to WPF and by definition C1 studio for wpf. I have an ultimate license on my machine which is active.
Whenever I run a wpf sample produced by c1 or I create a new wpf project and addc1 wpf controls to it I find that I am getting a nag screen. Closer examination shows that with new projects in particular the licenses.licx file is not being created when I drop a c1 control onto the design surface in the same way as it does when I do the same in winforms projects.
Is this the default behaviour? I don't have a problem with creating the licenses file manually, given that I often have to do that with winforms as I tend these days to create c1 controls in code from the outset. However one thing I'm not familiar with yet is the default entries that ought to be made in such a file in wpf to ensure that controls are properly licensed.
Do you have any iodea why the licenses file is not being created in the first place, and could you also provide a list of the basic entries that I would need to make in any licences file that I create myself?
    Many thanks
    Dom

    Hello Dom,
No, this is not the default behavior.
Whenever a fresh application is created -> and a control is dropped for the first time on the main window -> licenses.licx file is automatically generated under the following location :
    Solution Explorer -> Properties -> licenses.licx
    This is the default behavior.
If for some reason the licenses file is not generated in your application, then you can manually add a licenses file in your project. Perform the following steps for the same :
    1. From the Solution Explorer -> Right Click on the project name.
    2. Select Add -> New Item.
    3. Select General -> Text File option.
    4. Rename the file 'TextFile1.txt' to 'licenses.licx'.
    5. The file gets added to your project.
    6. Please make sure the 'Build Action' property for the added licenses file is set to 'Embedded Resource'.
    7. Add the respective control entries on your file which are being used in your project.
For example : (For a project containing a C1DataGrid and a C1FlexGrid, a licenses file should contain the following entries : (for 4.0 controls))
    C1.WPF.FlexGrid.C1FlexGrid, C1.WPF.FlexGrid.4
    C1.WPF.DataGrid.C1DataGrid, C1.WPF.DataGrid.4
(Above mentioned entries are the ones which will work under any build version of the two controls. Otherwise the licenses file can contain the specific version information too which has been removed from the above entries for now)
    8. Rebuild and Run the application.
You should no more face any nag screen issues.
Furthermore, there is no 'list of the basic entries'. You need to include the entries for all those controls that are being used in your application.

    Hi Reema
    Many thanks.
I didn't think that not creating the licenses.licx file was the default so. i'll need to investigate why it's not happening, however it's easy enough to create them manually anyway, and it's a task I usually do in Winforms projects anyway. By 'default list of basic entries' what I was getting at was for the various wpf controls that c1 does is there a list somewhere of the basic 'default' line that needs to be added to the licensees file. I know the Winforms one pretty much by memory now but the wpf platform is new to me and oddly that is information that never seems to appear in the documentation for the controls.
    Regards
    Dom

    Hello Dom,
As informed earlier, there is no 'list of the basic entries'. You need to include the entries for all those controls that are being used in your application.
Let me know if you face any further issues with the same.
